We were excited to be able to travel outside of San Diego for a special engagement shoot- in San Francisco! Since it was during summer, we were a little worried about the crowds that would be present at some of the prime locations we had collaborated on with our future bride and groom.
When we began that Sunday, it was incredibly foggy and cold, which wasn't unusual for SF. Our engaged couple were also aware of the cooler weather, but it gave us an advantage for our shoot- fewer tourists!
We began at the Palace of Fine Arts, which was a little busy but still had so many wonderful spots.
Secondly, we drove to the Legion of Honor, which although it was closed, still served as a grand background.
For our last location, we headed down to the beach to get some symbolic shots with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
Finally, we circled back and finished at the Palace of Fine Arts, when it was almost completely empty, which made it perfect for more dramatic shots.
Through it all, we shot an engagement film to tell our couple's story. When we do engagement sessions, we always do photography and filming, regardless of the location.

Something we always repeat is that engagement sessions help our couples prepare for their big day. We bond, break the ice, and practice so everyone is more comfortable during the wedding.
