Yes, this a blog post.
And yes, this is Arash, president and owner of Rugger Productions.
Yes, you will begin to see more of these. I feel like I have been keeping all of the fun and behind the scenes of my photography and cinematography process a secret from everyone. And although most of my photoshoots and weddings are in Southern California, I do have some upcoming trips that I thought people would be interested to know how I landed and how they went. So I'm going to post more about the process, the difficulties, and the great outcomes that come from the hard work, the referrals, and the sometimes lucky opportunities. Some will be from upcoming shoots and weddings, and some will touch on past sessions.
I'd like to begin with package I recently started offering, EWN packages, which touch upon the 3 significant steps for many people who are taking the first step to get married: Engagement, Wedding, and Newborn (or birth).
If these three processes are so significant, why isn't everyone capturing them? Yes, everyone (or almost everyone because Iphones DO NOT COUNT) has a professional photographer and usually a cinematographer capture their wedding. And people are starting to do more creative and artistic engagement shoots and parties where there is someone (like me! ) there to capture it. But newborn photography is a bit untouched from what I've seen. And birth announcement videos are even more of a rarity. So I've taken a couple of couples (look at that wordplay!) and asked them to try just the "newborn" part of the package since they're already married (and hopefully engaged at some point or else that would be for a cool story #coolstorybro) and the results are incredible!
We're not 100% completed with all of the couples, but we are almost there. So what do we do? We start with a maternity photoshoot with the couple. After the shoot, I film them while asking some questions to create a story out of their process. And every single couple has their own unique story. For example, one of the couples wants to be surprised about the sex of the baby. But the dad says that if it's a boy, he wants to name him Rufio. Yes, Rufio. From Hook. How badass is that? I'm not sure if the mom will be cool with that, but I guess it's worth a shot.
And once the child is born, we do a newborn photoshoot, and take some more final video footage. You can watch a sample below! But Rugger Productions is going to be a one stop shop for families to purchase a package that best fits them, complete with prints, albums, and more. We will also be offering the Newborn Birth Announcement packages for those just looking for maternity and newborn photos. The photos don't stop there either, as packages will have photoshoots at 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and 23 months, as those are key dates.
